No.6 Aonghas Crowe No.6 is a novel about life behind Japanese bars, the Justice system in Japan, drug abuse and its consequences, an other quirkiness. This is a work in progress which is evolving as I plug away at the second draft. In the coming months I should be able to update the blog, that is add new installments and chapters, so do check in from time to time. The very first installment, posted in June, can be found here: http://aonghascrowe.wordpress.com/2009/06/21/cuckoo-cuckoo/ Another novel I am currently tinkering with, A Woman’s Nails, is a novel about laying a past love to rest, one woman at a time. Set in Japan, the novel also explores the life of expats, the relationships between men and women, and Japanese culture. http://aonghascrowenails.wordpress.com/ All comments are appreciated. Happy reading! Fukuoka

Always Angie Always Angie I'm Angie. I'm many things to many people but I often forget how important it is to be ME. A wife, mother. A teacher, friend. A daughter, grandaughter, sister, neice, cousin and sister-in-law. A woman who loves to read, scrapbook, walk and watch TV but never seems to have the time to do any of these things. A Christian American married to a Buddhist Japanese man. A foreigner in the land that I've lived in for 18 years and made my family and bussiness. Higashi Oumi-shi
Surviving in Japan: (without much Japanese) aciara14 Finding the resources you need in Japan can be daunting at times, especially if you haven't quite mastered the language yet. Seemingly simple tasks such as using the ATM, getting a package redelivered, or asking for a haircut can seem nearly impossible. On this blog you'll find resources and ideas about making life in Japan easier for people who are new to Japan, still learning Japanese, or even those that have lived in Japan for some time. This is not a blog about etiquette, where to find a job or apartment, or a list of how to prepare for life here (though there may be some ideas concerning that here and there). The internet holds plenty of information, as do various books about living in Japan and other basics, but I felt it important to compile a list of things I had to learn on my own, or that weren't reiterated in the various websites and books I read before arriving.
